The Crownpeak May Release Roundup

Take a look at all that’s new at Crownpeak in this May 2019 product release overview

Let’s talk about our May 2019 product release. The theme of the May release is declickification – the science of getting more stuff done without putting yourself at risk for tendonitis. At Crownpeak helping you get tasks done quicker is a core principle, because we know that fewer clicks equals faster and a better use of your time.

The old design maxim says that visitors navigating a site should be able to get where they want to go in three clicks or less. While research has shown that the actual number of clicks it takes for a user to get frustrated varies with the context, the principles behind the rule are solid: a great site (or product) should help you get where you want to go easily. Hence, our aim for the May release is all about efficiency across all of our products.

Digital Experience Management (DXM)

Now you can now edit images without leaving DXM. Gone are the days of swapping apps, editing images, saving, importing, realizing you made a mistake and doing it all over again. I’m exhausted writing about it. Crop, edit, resize, and tint images – without leaving the platform.

We have also updated our tables across the board. They are more responsive and consistent, and now let you drill down and get the specific information you need. Efficient, am I right?

Finally, we have added an experience layer to all our products including DXM. Here's what it looks like:

Digital Experience Layer

I'll go into a little more detail next, in the DQM section.

Digital Quality Management (DQM)

This layer (as you can see above) lets us do cool things like add in guided tutorials, call attention to new features, and add new task-based navigation options.

With this release, we have added an experience layer to all Crownpeak products! What’s that, you ask? This layer lets us do cool things like add in guided tutorials, call attention to new features, and add new task-based navigation options. Our products are powerful, but sometimes that power can be intimidating. Since we do frequent updates that you might not be aware of too, these hints will quickly show you what you might be missing,

In DG, you can now view consent notices side by side and compare without having to click back and forth between them. This helps you figure out what is and isn’t working and gives you more of the information you need to optimize. We also now support vendor and category level grouping, which makes it easier for your visitors to change their preferences, saving them the additional steps associated with selecting individual vendors. We've added some experience layer hints in some of the workflows as well.
