Crownpeak in the 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for WCM – Again

Gartner, the leading technology analyst firm, recently released the 2019 edition of its Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management and for the sixth year in a row, Crownpeak has been recognized as a Web Content Management (WCM) Visionary. We believe that this recognition is a testament to the innovative work done by our product team and the industry–leading technology they deliver year after year. It's hard for any company to stay on top in tech, but we feel a Magic Quadrant Visionary for six years is a great validation of our approach and the support of our customers.

This year, Gartner talked about a few things that I think speak strongly to the value we bring to organizations, our position in the market – and what it means to be a Magic Quadrant Visionary in Web Content Management

Cloud–native from the very beginning

We know our SaaS model is one of the reasons our customers can achieve such fast time to value. Crownpeak has always been truly SaaS and cloud–native, architected from the very beginning to make sure that the focus was on technology and delivery, not infrastructure and servers. In fact, we've been proudly cloud–native and SaaS since 2001 with our very first public release. Our former CEO, Jim Howard outlines some of the key design principles in his 2012 blog post, "Crownpeak Software Architecture: WCM in the Cloud."

While Salesforce was rolling out its "End of Software" campaign and introducing the world to the SaaS model, the Crownpeak team was building its first CMS. In the years following, other vendors in our space have been extending and expanding their traditional, on–premises software. In some segments, this technology choice is now referred to as legacy by analysts and customers alike.

In our case, offering a nimble, truly cloud solution from the start, can sometimes take a while to be appreciated. But now, we increasingly see that the market and our customers are looking for an end to the unnecessary hassle of worrying about platform infrastructure when they'd rather be concentrating on customer experience and results.

Fastest time to value

Our customers regularly experience a fast time–to–value. It's not unusual for our customers to launch their first site within 6 weeks. In fact, our record – in this case for a Fortune 50 financial services company – is five days!

This speed is possible because of our unique decoupled architecture. Our content system is configuration–first, no coding required, letting you rapidly set up the information architecture that's needed. And our delivery layer can be as simple or as complex as needed – even headless, if that's your IT team's preference.

Because of these careful design decisions, Crownpeak customers are able to develop websites in a faster, more agile way using primarily front–end designers and developers - without giving up the critical enterprise functionality they expect.

Loved by our users

Via peer review sites and internal surveying, our customers continuously give us scores for the quality of our support and services. We've worked hard to create an environment that focuses on the success of each customer, making sure we understand their key success metrics so they're set up to achieve their overall goals.

We're consistently rated by our actual users, even when compared to the largest companies in our space. For example, check Gartner Peer Insights and see how Crownpeak does in the overall peer rating section as of July 30, 2019. It's no accident. We believe it's through constant innovation in features that matter to our customers and our ongoing alignment with each customer's success.

Innovative customer experience with quality and privacy

Lastly, we believe we are pushing the needle around digital experience. Uniquely in this industry we focus on time–to–value along with governance and quality. With the right technological solutions, you can both move fast and confidently. Our Digital Quality solution automatically checks for accessibility, SEO, and brand requirements across all content on all of your websites. TagControl monitors the run–time environment of your site for performance, data leaks to third–parties, and otherwise undiscoverable daisy-chain cookie and JavaScript calls that risk your user's data and privacy. Finally, our Universal Consent Platform helps you move privacy and consent in to your customer experience with headless consent–as–a–service offerings enabling you to increase consent conversions and earn customer trust.

These integrated solutions move you beyond just digital experiences to high–quality, on-brand, compliant and secure digital experiences that grow customer equity and let your teams move faster.

Being a Magic Quadrant Visionary

We are proud of being a Visionary and that Gartner has recognized us six years in a row. We believe that we bring a unique value to organizations looking for the right solutions to propel their digital experiences forward. Here at Crownpeak, we will continue to push the envelope forward with new code releases every two weeks, a robust roadmap of innovation, and a focus on helping organizations deliver the best digital customer experience they can, faster than they ever thought possible.
