Crownpeak Announces Consent Management for Google AMP Websites
New York, 25 September 2018: Crownpeak, a global leader in privacy management and digital governance management, today announced its commitment to helping mobile users manage their privacy preferences by providing the ability to manage consent on mobile websites built using Google’s Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) framework.
Crownpeak’s Universal Consent Platform helps companies achieve compliance with global data privacy laws, notably the GDPR, and can now be added to AMP sites, ensuring mobile users have greater control over the collection and use of their personal data.
Google’s AMP project is an open-source framework used by some of the world’s largest publishers to serve up mobile-ready websites focused on optimizing speed and performance. By setting rules and restrictions on the technologies that can run on AMP sites, the framework ensures that mobile sites are able to load quickly on mobile devices.
Gabe Morazan, Senior Product Manager at Crownpeak says: “Our customers report that a significant amount of their website traffic is coming in from mobile users. Understanding that this trend is only going to continue, we needed to provide a means for our customers to disclose what kind of personal data collection may be happening on these mobile sites and, where appropriate, gain consent for the use of that data as required by GDPR and other data privacy laws.”
Publishers with AMP sites can now utilize Crownpeak’s Universal Consent Platform to suitably disclose any personal data collection that may be taking place on the site, for reasons such as Online Behavioral Advertising (OBA) or other forms of profiling and marketing.
“Our aim is to place control back in the hands of consumers and play our part in raising industry compliance standards, ensuring that mobile sites aren’t forgotten” says Gabe Morazan.
