Solutions FAQ
Q: Do you integrate with SharePoint?
A: Yes. CrownPeak’s SharePoint Connector makes adding SharePoint-based content to a website a simple and integrated process. There’s no need to jockey files between SharePoint, an intermediate system, and your content management system, which makes it much simpler to track content relationships with far less effort than before.
Q: Do you do mobile websites?
A: Yes. As part of our partnering approach to customer service, we're experts at helping our clients roll out the right mobile templates for their needs. Web content can easily be created to work within standard browsers, on mobile devices such as BlackBerrys and iPhones, and on tablets such as iPads. All are supported in both authoring and visitor roles.
Q: Do you handle sites requiring authentication?
A: Yes. CrownPeak can work with nearly any site that requires authentication. When content is created inside the CrownPeak CMS it is tagged appropriately for the various user groups that will be authenticating into the web site. The content is then published to the web site. The web visitor authenticates into the web site with their UID and password. The Web site stores the web visitor's user group credentials in server session variables on the web host. Once successfully authenticated the web host will serve up appropriate content to the web visitor based on the content tags and the group information.
Q: Do you support LDAP integration
A: Yes. CrownPeak has developed a native integration point with LDAP that allows users to utilize their network access credentials to also access the CrownPeak Cloud CMS.
Q: Do you provide end-user and/or help desk level support?
A: Yes. Built directly into the CrownPeak Lifetime Active Support (LAS) is the full range of end-user and/or help desk level support. This goes above and beyond simply ensuring that functionality works inside the CrownPeak Cloud CMS. This includes all levels of active support ranging from resetting UID's and passwords, to helping users understand how to work with and enter content, all the way to development work around repairing current templates templates, creating new templates, creating microsites, etc.
Q: Do you comply with EU data security regulations?
A: CrownPeak offers hosting services worldwide. In order to comply with EU data security regulations, our customers utilize the CrownPeak hosting located inside the EU itself. This setup ensures that any personal information stored in CrownPeak remains inside the EU and satisfies all data security regulations.
Q: Do you comply with regulatory requirements such as Sarbanes Oxley (SARBOX), HIPPA, FDA, etc.?
A: Yes. CrownPeak complies with a variety of regulatory requirements by offering archival system as part of the services provided. This archival system meets all regulatory requirements. Use of the system ensures that our customers can "travel back in time" and visit their web site on any date and at any time to view the exact content displayed, report on the site, and even export the content if necessary for investigatory purposes.
Q: Can I launch a microsite with CrownPeak?
A: Yes. The CrownPeak Cloud CMS can easily be configured to launch a microsite for any purpose or to support any marketing initiative. This works on the concept of a model which defines all the components that make up a specific microsite. These components can range from the pages and templates involved, to the workflow, and even the publishing model. They all simply roll up into one push button, so that when needed the only user action is to engage the microsite, and all the necessary elements are automatically created for them. At that point the user can create the content to fill out the site and publish.

Q: How fast can you be implemented?
A: Implementation speed depends on your organization’s IT infrastructure, existing CMS (if any), and the way in which you plan to work with CrownPeak, but we can confidently state that implementation takes a minimal amount of time in comparison to other solutions on the market Simple projects like micro sites or mobile sites can be launched in just a few days. Multiple major international websites have been launched in as little as 6 weeks from kickoff to global availability.
Q: How do you handle security?
A: Because CrownPeak Web Content Management and Web Content Optimizer are software offered as a service (SaaS), our security is second to none. We keep your content secure by:
- Managing the web content management system or CMS, which means fewer systems for your own IT group to manage. Our secure platform uses strong authentication, encrypted data exchange and 24/7 human monitoring, auditing, and reporting. We host our software in best-in-class data centers: IBM, AWS, Rackspace, with SAS 70-compliant platforms.
- We keep the web host light weight, meaning you only need to run the core apps for delivering your website. This means the web server doesn’t have any superfluous software or open ports that might provide a vector for attackers.
- Your internal applications stay behind your firewall in your managed data centers. This gives you full control over how the site and/or CMS communicates with these systems. Because the CMS communicates using standard protocols and formats, there’s no need for you to install new software or services on your internal systems to support it.
Q: What is your Service Level Agreement?
A: Our Service Level Agreements are customized to our clients' requirements, but here’s a broad overview of the types of tasks included at no charge as part of our SLA:
- Product maintenance, proactive patching of the CrownPeak software services
- Upgrades to software and hardware
- 24/7/365 monitoring of CrownPeak Web Content Management or CMS application availability

- Product (CrownPeak CMS) issues and fixes
Q: What is the term of an agreement?
A: This generally varies with each customer’s needs but ranges from 1 to 3 years.
Q: What is your hosting setup like?
A: CrownPeak’s cloud-based software services – our CMS, WCO and Search products – live independently from the web servers. We move content from the software services to the web server by pushing approved content via SFTP (other methods are also available), or by dynamically delivering content at run-time request.
CrownPeak offers dedicated, high-level support access 24/7 for all of our client hosting accounts, through Amazon Web Services. When working with Amazon Web Services, CrownPeak always purchases warranties on hardware, along with network management, security options, and backup options. The standard package we purchase includes ISO17799-based policies and procedures, regularly reviewed as part of SAS70 Type II audit process. CrownPeak also works with a variety of network management and monitoring partners.
