Continually Improving Search Results
CrownPeak Search automatically learns over time as your web site users search for content.  The system automatically re-prioritizes results based on content age, frequency of search query, how popular the content is, and what types of content users select from results.
  
Progressive Matching 
Results are automatically delivered as exact match, followed by degrees of less-exact match.  This technique gives the best match possible and greatly reduces the incidence of the dreaded, “No Results Found”.  CrownPeak often combines this technique with a specialized “guided navigation” feature, emphasizing sections of the site related to the query.  This technique offers a huge advantage over most other search systems on the market.  

Related Articles
Enable fully automated “related articles” links from every page of the site, if desired.

Embedded Search
Capture a specific search result or report and embed that result in any page on the site.  For example, embed search results from the FAQ as a content element, within a related product page of the site.

Multi-Site Search
Search results can be returned from multiple sites simultaneously, allowing for better aggregation of large content sources into usable results.   

Section & Category Search
Only search relevant sections of your site(s).  Then, sort those results in priority - or automatically cluster those results in dedicated folders for your users.   Even create custom indexes or directories of large bodies of content or multiple web sites.
 
Customized Results
CrownPeak Search can return unique titles and/or descriptions that don’t necessarily match the title of the document.  For example, return an abstract from the document rather than the document title itself.  Or return segments of a page, drawn from a field in the content management system, database, or parsed from the page context.

In-Context Results
Search results can be presented in intelligent context, with the search term highlighted in both the search results and in the selected target document.

Alternate Spelling
Much more powerful than just a spell-checker that uses a standard dictionary, CrownPeak Search actually uses your site as a dictionary and can suggest alternate queries.  We also support custom dictionaries and synonyms and acronyms.

Complete Control over Design and Layout
Search results pages can return in any design you desire.  Style sheets are also supported and, can be managed externally to the search system.

XML Results Return
Instead of CrownPeak returning page results, we can return results or result snippets in XML, RSS-formatted XML, HTML, or any other standard text or text/image format desired for parsing and insertion into a specific page or database.

Index Password-Protected Sites
The CrownPeak Search spider can search protected areas of sites, including subscription sites, extranets or intranets.

Security Management
Only deliver results to those site visitors who have permission to see them. 

Scheduled Crawling
Set a schedule and pace for crawling or manually index your site at any time.  Never “slag” the servers with a crawl.  Includes a staged area for your crawl, so that you can test what a new index will do to your search results prior to making them live - a great way to test promotions.
