Manager Partner to Enable CMS Services for Commonwealth of Virginia Homepage,
Offer Special Program for Virginia Government Webmasters.

DEL REY, Calif. (May 15, 2002) – CrownPeak Technology, the premier content
management ASP, today announced that it will implement the CrownPeak CMS™
content management system (CMS) in partnership with Virginia Interactive, Inc.,
the network manager of the Virginia’s official state portal (see www.myvirginia.org).
Virginia Interactive manages the MyVirginia portal, a gateway that provides
Virginia’s citizens and businesses access to government information, and serves
under contract with the Virginia Information Providers Network (VIPNet) Authority.
In addition, CrownPeak and Virginia Interactive announced that they have formed
a partnership to bring CrownPeak CMS to state and local government
Web managers throughout Virginia.
VIPNet
assists Virginia government entities in Web-enabling their information services.
Through VIPNet, Virginia Interactive will deploy CrownPeak’s flagship Advantage
CMS across the state portal to standardize navigation and develop dynamic templates
for efficiently updating both content and navigation. Advantage CMS will enable
Virginia Interactive to administer and modify the system through a simple but
powerful browser-based user interface. Virginia Interactive is a subsidiary
of the e-government company NIC.

the official homepage for the Commonwealth of Virginia, MyVirginia is the gateway
site to every Virginia government related resource, with information ranging
from government elections data to travel and tourism,” said Rodney Willett,
general manager of VIPNet. “MyVirginia is the main vehicle for visitors
to access the wealth of information on doing business, traveling, living or
relocating in Virginia. We needed a tool that would manage our extensive content
while making that content easily accessible to site visitors -- and all within
our strict budget. After reviewing many other potential choices, it became
clear that CrownPeak CMS is that tool.”

flows through the portal demands an enterprise-level solution. But as a governmental

added element of the partnership, CrownPeak and Virginia Interactive will offer
CrownPeak CMS to government Web managers across the state at a specially discounted
price. With Virginia Interactive providing a live product demonstration and
showcase site, CrownPeak will seek to engage customers through hands-on experience
rather than from more conventional marketing campaigns.
Earlier
this year, CrownPeak announced development of tailored content management systems
for two major educational and non-profit entities, in an overall move to highlight
the potential of outsourced content management to rapidly and cost-effectively
assist organizations that heretofore struggled to afford world-class CMS systems.
As an extension of that program, CrownPeak has worked with Virginia Interactive
to develop a special program for state and local governments.
